Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy) is set to direct the movie Wonder Woman. And, he wants Sarah to star in it! At least that is what a dozen websites are publishing. And I really hope so! However, here is a tidbit from TV Guide website:

THE CHOSEN ONE: Joss Whedon is staking his claim to another female superhero. Warner Bros. is on the verge of lassoing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer mastermind to write and direct the studio’s long-gestating Wonder Woman feature film, TV Guide Online has learned. The almost-done deal comes just two months after Whedon announced that he was getting out of the TV biz to focus on making movies, beginning with his forthcoming Firefly flick, Serenity. Meanwhile, there’s no word on who Whedon may tap to fill Lynda Carter’s satin tights, but I’m going to go out on a limb and throw Sarah Michelle Gellar’s name into the mix. (Yes, this is how rumors get started, folks.)

‘Buffy’ star gets ‘Sabrina’ movie role?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar will take the lead role in a movie adaptation of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, according to Teen Hollywood.

The 27-year-old star has apparently beaten Britney Spears to the part.

A source told the website, “A few names have been mentioned, including Britney Spears, but recently she’s lost that teenage innocence tag.

“Gellar might be a bit older but she still looks fantastic.”

The movie will begin filming in 2006.
