Sarah’s new show The Crazy Ones will debut in the fall and it’ll air on Thursdays at 9pm EST on CBS. Here’s the press release, preview and first still:
Academy Award winner Robin Williams returns to series television in THE CRAZY ONES, a single-camera workplace comedy about a larger-than-life advertising genius whose unorthodox methods and unpredictable behavior would get him fired… if he weren’t the boss. Simon Roberts (Williams) is the head of a powerful agency, with the biggest clients and brands in the world, but even more important to him is that his daughter Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is by his side. As his partner, Sydney is Simon’s exact opposite – focused, organized and eager to make a name for herself, but also too busy parenting her father, which she’d resent if he wasn’t so brilliant at what he does. Joining them in the firm are the dashing and talented Zach (James Wolk); art director Andrew (Hamish Linklater), who’s as hard-working as he is neurotic; and the beautiful and deceptively smart assistant Lauren (Amanda Setton). With his team and his daughter behind him, Simon continues to set the advertising world on fire, and it looks like they are definitely buying what these crazy ones are selling. Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal” and “The Practice”), Bill D’Elia, Emmy Award winner Jason Winer (“Modern Family”), Dean Lorey, John Montgomery and Mark Teitelbaum are executive producers for Twentieth Century Fox Television. Jason Winer directed the pilot.
Sarah’s new show Crazy Ones has been picked up by CBS. The show is described as “A father/daughter workplace comedy set in the world of advertising.”
Sarah is joined on the cast by Robin Williams, James Wolk, Hamish Linklater, Amanda Setton.
There’s still no word on when it’ll be released. Mostly likely in Fall
New project for Sarah!
Buffy The Vampire Slayer alumna Sarah Michelle Gellar has been tapped as the female lead opposite Robin Williams in David E. Kelley’s CBS comedy pilot Crazy Ones. Written/exec produced by Kelley and directed/exec produced by Jason Winer, Crazy Ones is set in the world of advertising and stars Williams as Simon (Williams), the brilliant head of an ad executive working alongside his daughter Syndley (Gellar), the agency’s creative director. 20th Century TV is producing.
Gellar was recently attached to a 20th TV comedy spec, and I hear that the studio wanted to stay in business with her after that spec didn’t go. This marks the first live-action comedy series gig for Gellar, who starred in the CW drama Ringer last season. She is repped by ICM Partners and Brillstein Entertainment.
The “Buffy” and “Ringer” actress may board a family sitcom, currently in development at 20th TV.
Sarah Michelle Gellar could soon be headed back to television.
The actress, whose CW vehicle Ringer was canceled at the end of last season, is eying a comedy currently in development at 20th Century Fox TV.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Gellar is circling the role of a wife in the sitcom about what parents do while they’re kids are at home — as first reported by TVLine.
Men at Work staff writer Shepard Boucher penned the spec script, and David Hemingson (Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23) and Margaret Riley (Love and Other Drugs) are attached as EPs.
Should the project go to pilot — the studio will shop it to networks in the coming weeks — it would only be her second attempt at genre. Best known for playing lead in dramas Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ringer, Gellar previously shot an ill-fated comedy pilot for HBO in 2009.
Gellar is repped by ICM.
Unfortunatelly Ringer has been cancelled by the CW due to low ratings. I don’t know whats up next for Sarah other than her new baby that is on the way, so we probably can expect some time off for now.
I’ll get the gallery up-to-date as soon as I find some free time. Been busy like crazy lately =(
Caps from last night. I realized that everyone is a liar in that show. Maybe except Andrew, but if Siobhan is telling the truth, even he is hiding something about the company. Here are caps
