Great news! Sarah Michelle Gellar has confirmed that she will reprise her Cruel Intentions role as the devious Kathryn Merteuil in NBC’s television reboot of the 1999 film. Gellar, 38, shared the news on Instagram late Wednesday night in the form of a #throwbackthursday post.
The television reboot will take place 15 years after the movie left off. Gellar (back in the role of Kathryn Merteuil) is now battling for control of the family business and attempting to corrupt 16-year-old Bash Casey, the son of Annette Hargrove (originally played by Reese Witherspoon) and Merteuil’s late stepbrother Sebastian Valmont (who was played by Ryan Phillippe).
Now this is going to be good!
